In Honor of Alliece (1926-2010)

Alliece Pigott, dedicated AARF volunteer, passed away on October 22, 2010. You will remember her smiling face, greeting everyone and every animal who entered and exited the Libbie Place Pet Smart on AARF adoption stand Saturdays. Her charm and her wit were but a few of her outstanding qualities. For those of us who knew her well, she was a talented artist as well as accomplished pianist, avid reader, music lover, great Tex-Mex cook, former radio voice and general authoritarian on almost any subject but she was most happy serving as an advocate for dog rescue. Through her devotion to the dogs and puppies of AARF, many have benefitted from her ever-presence at the adoption stand; manning the donation table. She was there no matter the weather and always with a cheerful greeting to all. Each of our lives has been truly blessed by our friend, Alliece. She will be sorely missed by her human and animal friends alike.

She was a Senior Olympian - that was one of her proudest moments. She was a wonderful person in everyone's life that she touched.

"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." (Will Rogers)

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
